Eero Auvinen is a Finnish lighting and video designer with over two decades of experience across theatre, contemporary dance, circus, and large-scale live performance.

Based in Tampere, he holds the position of Head Lighting Designer at Tampereen Työväen Teatteri (TTT), one of Finland’s largest and most prominent repertory theatres, where his work spans drama, musicals, and major international productions. His recent credits at TTT include Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, School of Rock, Come From Away, and Hamlet, among many others.

While TTT is his permanent home, Eero is always happy to take on freelance work with other theatres and professional companies. Collaboration across different artistic contexts is something he genuinely values, and it continues to inform and enrich his work.

He has collaborated with leading companies in the performing arts including the Finnish National Theatre, Tero Saarinen Company, Cirkus Cirkör, Sorin Sirkus, and Sirkus Finlandia, touring productions across more than 40 countries. His work has been recognised in the Finnish press, with Helsingin Sanomat praising his ability to create enchanting harmony between movement and light.

Eero holds a Bachelor of Culture and Arts degree in Lighting Design from Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
